This is the original clay sculpture of the Ani kitten. It was sculpted by hand out of soft clay and detailed with small wooden tools . Then it was bisque fired, painted and sanded. From this model a plaster mold is made. Then the individual Ani sculptures are cast with earthen ware clay. The faces are individually detailed and the mold seams are removed. After the first firing (bisque) the Ani kittens are glazed to the colors that our customers have requested. |
