The "Big Mudra Hands" are ceramic Buddha hand sculptures inspired by the symbolic hand gestures featured on Buddhist sculptures and artwork. The open palm of these pieces is the "abhaya" mudra which means "fearlessness" . After sculpting the original Buddha Mudra Hand, Gary created the design with spiral waves. In addition there is a hand covered in flowers. The Buddha Mudra Hands with writing are inspired by traditional Mendhi patterns that are put on the palms of brides and wedding party members in India. The words on the sculptures by Gary are meant to convey fundamental concepts of personal growth and philosophy.
