This sculpture is 7" high, weighs about 1.25 pounds and made with a special cold cast resin technique.
This bust of Jimi Hendrix is an original sculpture by Gary Steinborn commissioned under license from the James (Jimi) Marshall Hendrix Foundation. In a sense, it is a neo classical pop art statement with an undercurrent of social and cultural commentary.
Jimi Hendrix was a virtuoso musician and a visionary musical genius. Unlike many early Rockers of his day, Jimi was as much an innovative composer as he was virtuoso of his instrument, bringing new textures together with formal techniques in a swell of sound the world had not known since Paganini. Hence, it is appropriate to honor him in the fashion of previous compositional innovators, "the Bust". Of multi-racial decent, Jimi, (like Barack today) Jimi made a contribution to the culture of Western civilization and the World in the twentieth century that will last forever.
This special edition is cast and signed by the artist, Gary Steinborn from his studio in Venice Californi
